The story of a meeting:

Richard Galliano:

I knew Gary' s Burton work with Astor Piazzolla but I was already connected with the vibraphone during my youth, I was listening at that time the Jazz accordionist Art Van Damme who has integrated the vibraphone in his Quintet. After this natural attraction, I thought of the union of metallic strips, those of the vibraphone (36 ) and those of the accordion (488) and of course the legendary virtuosity of Gary Burton !
After our first meeting we naturally agreed for a Jazz Tango Project including Piazzolla"'s pieces but also a few personal compositions

Gary Burton:

"Teaming up with Richard Galliano is absolutely a natural thing for me to do. I have a long history of playing tango music and I have long admired Richard's many recordings of both Piazzolla's music and his own. Combining jazz with tango is something I love to experiment with, and there will be many new possibilities collaborating with Richard. This will be some of the most interesting music of our careers."
